There are, of course, other kinds of \”bonus\” machines that offer an entirely different pay structure to these kinds of bonus games. Many of these machines will feature bonuses which can be achieved by extra-coin plays. These are a ver¬sion of the buy-a-pay machine, and are often called \”buy-a-bonus\” machines.
Although they are mostly among the video slots these days, there are some reel slots which can be classified in this subcategory. What differentiates the generous bonus structure from the run-of-the-mill bonus games is the fact that these bonuses are reasonable, and reasonably achievable. Even though these bonuses, particu¬larly on reel slots, are really all part of the overall prepro¬grammed payback percentage of that machine or game, that program actually allows for the frequent occurrence of these events, sufficiently so that the pays thus received contribute significantly to the overall generally liberal nature of the game itself.
